Studying and practicing under the instruction of Lhoppon Rechung – particularly through the Guhyagarbha Tantra class series – has had a profound impact on my life.
As a teacher, Rinpoche’s command over the Buddhist canon has helped orient my intellect and cultivate greater confidence in the relative path by better understanding the stages, features, and functions of Vajrayana practice.  However, as he often reminds us of his intention to grow genuine practitioners more than hard-headed scholars, his teachings have provided far deeper value…
As a guide, Rinpoche’s embodiment of the heart essence of the Dharma has been an inspiration to witness:  His warmth viscerally blossoms as unwavering devotion to the Sangha, modelleding fundamental instructions on the practice itself.  He is patient, kind, and gentle, while also astute.  Regardless of the subject at hand, my meditation has developed through osmosis due to Rinpoche’s selfless intention, unbiased compassion, and effortless clarity that are his perpetual capacity to turn all things into teachable moments.
Where I entered these classes unconsciously expecting to build a powerhouse of egoic knowledge to further scaffold my arrogance, I have instead become quite calm, with a germinating preference for peace above samsaric pursuit.  My practice is invigorated and its purpose is more clear.
Much like Buddha nature itself, Rinpoche is truly a precious jewel of Tibetan Buddhist wisdom, shrouded in modesty and hiding in plain sight!

I have both enjoyed and benefitted greatly from the Mipham Shedra classes on the Guhyagarbha Tantra given by Lhoppon Rinpoche.  I have not had an entirely easy year and am now approaching 82 years of age.  The teachings have helped me remain relatively calm through a number of complex challenges and to generally be quietly joyful much more of the time than I would have been otherwise.  Sometimes when I felt tired at the end of a day, thinking I would just go to bed early and not work on a planned worthy project, the inspiration from our study increased my energy level and enthusiasm, producing not only accomplishments but also fresh ideas.  I very much enjoyed hearing from and interacting with the other students, from whom I learned a lot. In addition, as a person who grew up with some study and practice along the lines of Hindu non-dual philosophy, I found the class to provide much to ponder.  In summary, the classes have been meaty, in-depth, fascinating, inspiring, and of significantly positive practical effect on my life and state of mind, which I had thought were already good.

During the fall semester of Guhyagarbha Tantra class taught by Lhoppon Rechungpa Rinpoche, I often thought, “This is the best thing in my life now and maybe ever.” I had never studied the dharma academically before this class and study brought clarity to my practice and subtle harmony into daily life. The course was challenging as well which is likely why it was so beneficial. I look forward to continue learning next semester.
